Engineering Your Future! ANCHOR Engineering Day is a one-day interactive conference designed especially for 7th and 8th grade students who are curious about the world of STEM and how the different components connect to exciting real-world careers such as designing and building submarines right here in Connecticut. This conference helps students see how today’s curiosity can lead to tomorrow’s opportunities in engineering, technology, and supporting a future career; shaping the next generation of naval submarines. Morning: Students take part in multiple hands-on activities led by some of our fabulous UConn Engineering students, giving them a taste of what it’s like to think and work like an engineer. Afternoon: Students will hear from several inspiring speakers, including UConn Engineering alumni and other professional engineers from across Connecticut, who are working in the industry. These speakers will share their personal stories and career paths in engineering and technology. How to Participate: Any CT Teachers or school Administrators who are interested in bringing their students to this fun, creative STEM experience are encouraged to email the contact below to request a registration form. All CT schools are welcome to apply. We encourage students from all backgrounds and experiences to join us; no prior engineering experience is needed, just an interest in STEM!
